A letter from a Mother’s Heart 17th December 2018
The Power of Repetition.
Dear High Achievers,
As you purpose to seek mentorship, I would like you to take note of the repeated phrases, lessons and words of wisdom from your mentors. When you focus on repetition of events or words you quickly realize the importance of their occurrence, for lessons in life will be repeated until they are learned. When something is said over and over again it portrays its vitality while building mastery. Soren Kierkegaard said that repetition is the reality and the seriousness of life. A signal for danger will be repeated many times for people to get the warning sign and take appropriate action.
Avoid the attitude of blocking yourself from listening to what is being said by assuring yourself that you have heard whatever is being said before. What else is new we often ask? Hearing the same thing more than once should not be offensive, instead begin to understand that it is very important and you should pay keen attention. From our would be mentors like teachers, parents, counselors, grandparents, older siblings, friends, spiritual leaders we have heard some similar words and phrases over and over again. Please pay heed and redirect your energies to those aspects of life that have been repeated in your ears over and over again but you are seemingly tired of hearing.
As a literature scholar we were encouraged to take keen interest in the repeated words or phrases in a book for in there lay the profound theme of the author. Repetition is a powerful literal technique always used for emphasis. Just have a few reflections and you will soon realize that these repeated spoken words are very important for the success journey in your life. Allow repetition to be one of the building blocks in your life.
Robert Collier says that constant repetition carries conviction. It is of vital importance to note that words and thoughts that are repeated often get stronger by the repetitions. They sink into our subconscious minds and affect our behavior, actions and reactions.
Our success is to nurture you into great respectable gentlemen and ladies. Just take note that your transformation would be the sum of all our small efforts repeated day in and day out. So dear friends do not tire out just listening to the values being imparted in your lives, one day you will be glad you listened.
Quote of the week: Repetition is the mother of learning, the father of action, which makes it the architect of accomplishment. Zig Ziglar
