Honoring the Chapel Committee: The Heart of SMACON’s Spiritual Life

Wednesday, April 22, 2026 1 min read
During the recent Thanksgiving and Confirmation Service at St. Mark’s College Namagoma (SMACON), special recognition was given to a group of dedicated individuals whose efforts often work quietly behind the scenes - the Chapel Committee. The Chapel Committee serves as the engine that drives the spiritual life of the school. Through their commitment, organization, and devotion, they ensure that every act of worship is meaningful, orderly, and uplifting. From planning liturgies to coordinating services, their work plays a vital role in nurturing the spiritual growth of both students and staff. The Thanksgiving and Confirmation Service provided a fitting moment to introduce and appreciate this remarkable team. Their tireless efforts in preparing and organizing the day’s liturgy were evident in the smooth flow and spiritual depth of the celebration. Such occasions remind the school community of the importance of faith as a pillar of holistic education. The committee members, presented from left to right, include: Mr. Tumanyire Simon, Mr. Mugabi Emmanuel, Mr. Mwesigwa Alex, Mr. Byabakama Isaac, Mr. Wamala Livingstone, Ms. Nayinda Rebecca, Mrs. Mayanja Justine N, Mrs. Monica, Mr. Ssebalamu E. Tom, and Mr. Muyunga Bruno. Each member brings unique strengths and unwavering dedication, collectively ensuring that the spiritual flame of SMACON continues to burn brightly. Their recognition during this important service was not only well-deserved but also a powerful reminder of the role of teamwork and faith in building a strong school community. As SMACON continues to grow in academic excellence, the Chapel Committee remains a cornerstone in shaping students into morally upright, disciplined, and spiritually grounded individuals.
